On December 19th, 1981, was found suicide at his home, the former Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu. He was one of the major figures of the National Liberation War, and political life of the postwar Albania, participant of the Spanish War. After the death, he was named as poliagent and enemy of the people. Mehmet Shehu was the longest Prime Minister in this post, which he held for 27 years.
