“Mandela of Albania”, as it is called, Pjeter Arbnori, was born in Durres, on January 18th, 1935. He was graduated at the University of Tirana and initially served as village teacher, gave literature in Kavaja; tried difficult jobs until he was arrested in 1961.In the cell he stayed 28 years.After 1990, he worked in important positions until the President of the Presidency of Parliament; is awarded with the title “People’s Teacher”. Pjeter Arbnori is also distinguished as a writer and has left some books like “Kur dynden vikingët”, “Mugjit e mesjetës”, “Bukuroshja me hije” etc.
