Today is commemorated the cruel murder of the Teacher of the Nation Ndrec Ndue Gjoka, who was called the “Commissioner of Light” by the people of Mirdita. He was born in Klos of Mirdita, in 1919. After finishing the Normal School of Elbasan, he taught in the villages of Shkodra and Peja in Kosovo. He has contributed for the establishment of 51 primary schools in Mirdita, where were studied about 2200 students. On February 17th, 1946 he was murdered.
