Visarion Xhuvani
Today is commemorated the death anniversary of the prominent theologian, the determined fighter to autocephalous Albanian Orthodox Church, Archbishop, who for many years led the Albanian Orthodox Church, Visarion Xhuvani. After he completed the Theological University of Athens and PHD in Theological University of Cambridge, he taught at the Theological University of Athens, then led the Royal Church of Greece in Sofia and served as Arqimandrit in Romania. In homeland, he was the organizer of the Church Congress of Berat and Korca that declared the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Albania. He died on December 14th, 1965.
