In July 1880, our great Renaissance women Elena Gjika made a working visit to the United States of America. On July 31, she wrote from Boston to Arbëreshës Jeronim De Rada, for the meeting with the American national poet. Longfellou, she writes, “Invited me lunch late and promised me that soon, will create a poem on Scanderbeg.” Thus from the oral stories of Elena, the poem “The Return of Scanderbeg in Kruja” was born, brought in by Fan Noli in Albanian. Years later, the latter, on the basis of this poem, composed one of the first symphonies of Albanian music.
