The patriotic organization “Vatra”, created by Albanian emigrants in the US on June 3, 1917, proclaimed June 3rd, “Albania’s Day of Rescue.” The commission created on this occasion called on all immigrants to help fund $ 40,000 for the salvation of the Homeland. The Fund would be used for the organization of propaganda and activities for the protection and popularization of our national cause.
