Albanian authorities, on May 27, 1927, arrested for Yugoslav spying Vuko Gjyraskovic for espionage. This incident irritated relations between the two states. Belgrade withdrew its diplomatic mission from Tirana and interrupted the relations between the two countries. The intervention of the English, French and Italian diplomacy had to be restored.
