In the city of Vlora on December 1st, 1885 was born the freedom fighter, politician, diplomat, publisher and researcher EqeremVlora. He took the first lessons in the Turkish school of Vlora, the secondary school in Basel, Switzerland and in Istanbul; he was graduated from the University of Vienna and doctorate in international relations at the Istanbul University. He began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ottoman Empire and later he worked at the Turkish Embassy in St. Petersburg. At the same time, he did an intense patriotic activity; he was among the founders of the “Bashkimi” society in Istanbul, the editor of “Albania-Arnavut” magazine.
