On November 19th, 1935 over 1500 Albanian workers in the Italian company AIPA in Kucova, went to strike, demanding higher salaries, shortening of the working hours that reached up to 13 hours per day, and creating the necessary conditions of living. The objection for the fulfillment of their demands sparked a powerful demonstration and the intervention of Ahmet Zogu gendarmerie for its oppression.
