In Aka, Turkey, on 14 July 1868, was born the sculptor, poet and patriot of our National Renaissance, Murat Toptani. His father, Said Toptani, has also entered our history, as an ardent patriot and a warrior, for the freedom and independence of the Fatherland. Patriotic activity Murat Toptani was held in Tirana, but also in Istanbul, Bucharest, Naples and elsewhere. There was work and family ties with Frasheri brothers, but with many other patriots. He was a representative of Tirana when the flag was raised in Vlora and a signatory of the act of independence. In 1899, he worked in the Naples bust of Scanderbeg, known as one of the first works of the National Renaissance sculpture. Apart from the sculptural works, he has also left some paintings and is remarkably distinguished in the cartoon field. In the press of time, some poems, poetry, and publicity articles have also been published. Part of his literary creativity is summarized in the volume “Murat Toptani Vjershat”, published in 1924.
