Lezha
In Lezha and its surroundings, on September 11, 1498, an anti-Ottoman uprising broke out, leading to the liberation of the ancient city, the streets of Shkodra and Dukagjini were cut off for Turkish invaders. At the request of the insurgents, after three years, came Skanderbeg’s nephew, nicknamed New Skanderbeg. But both the number of soldiers and the amount of armament he carried were limited, and the uprising was suppressed.
