In Ancient Skampa, on May 10, 1330, was blessed the Monastery of St. John Vladimir, built by Karl Topi, Prince of Kruja and Lord Durrës. The monastery that has come up to our day was erected on the foundations of St. John’s old monastery, completely plagued by a powerful earthquake that hit Middle Albania in the 14th century. This ancient cultural monument, conveys tremendous spiritual, artistic and historical values.
