Pianist and composer Kozma Lara was born in Durres on 10 July 1930. His first works began to be heard in the 60s. In 1965, the symphony applauded, which, though ranked among its first works, remains one of the most accomplished. A year later, he composed ballet music “Fatosi Partisan”, which was staged by choreographer Panajot Kanaci. In the years that followed, he composed concerts for violin and orchestra, piano orchestra concerts, pianos orchestra rhymes, orchestral suites, symphonic dance etc. The piano balades and piano sonatas of Kozma Lara are the first works of this kind in Albanian pianist music and represent the best achievements in the creativity of the author.
