The cleric, scholar and journalist Frano Gjenoviçi died on April 28th, 1937. He was born in Alzzano Magiore, a town near Bergamo in 1864. He took his first lessons at homeland. Then he devoted himself to the religious affair and attended the theological studies. After graduating in Krakow, Poland, he was appointed priest in Shkodra. Frano Gjenoviçi, is one of the earliest journalists of the Albanian press. In 1897, he directed the notebook “Lajmetari”. For several years, he was chief editor of the ” Elcia e zemrës t’Jezu Krishtit ” magazine and its appendage “Perparimi”.
