On June 22, 1926, the cinema “Nacional” was inaugurated, the first public cinema in the Albanian capital. A year ago, Hysen Beshiri, Juf Koljaka, Alqi Hobdari and Ferit Vokopola had set up the first company of cinemas in Albania. These were two important events in the country’s artistic life. In the years that followed, the “Nacional” cinema and the cinematic society opened their branches in several cities, such as Durres, Elbasan, Shkodra, Vlora, Berat and Gjirokastra, becoming the strongest society in the selection, import and screening of films in Albania . It also influenced the vitality of artistic life, such as the behavior of exterior art groups, performances in the cinemas of society, the engagement of Albanian inventors for displaying sketches, clowns, parodies, etc.
