On May 27, 1941, he was executed hanging in Tirana, the youngest 21 year old. On May 17, that year, he fired five bullets, Victor Emmanuel III, when the car crash was passing through Durres. Vasil Lait’s assassination was the spark that sparked the great anti-fascist uprising of our people. The patriot from Saranda’s Piqerasi, for ten days resisted torture and the fascist military trial sentenced him to death.
