Today is commemorated Osman Haxhiu one of the leaders and heroes of the War of Vlora. His activity begins with the declaration of independence and the establishment of the Government of Ismail Qemali, where he participated actively in all the events and developments. He is one of the central figures of the War of Vlora, the first member of the Albanian Parliament, participants of the June Revolution and the Noli’s government activist. As opponent of the regime of Zog, he was denigrated and was persecuted at the time of the kingdom. He died on March 5th, 1937.
