On January 5th, 1555, came to light the first book printed in the Albanian language, “Meshari” of Gjon Buzuku. The only copy stored, was found in 1740 in Italy. “Meshari” is written with the Latin alphabet, but are also used five special letters for the Albanian that in Latin lacks. The significance of the work lies in its linguistic, literary and historical value and in the tradition that it created.
