On February 18th, 1931, was killed by the Serbian police Milan Shuflai, albanologist with German descent. The murder of the prominent historian and professor caused international widespread protests because his murder happened after a visit which he made in Albania. In 1924, the Academy of Sciences of Vienna, published the main work of Shuflai, “Qytetet dhe kalatë e Shqipërisë kryesisht gjatë mesjetës”. Then it was published “Historia e Shqipërisë së Veriut” and “Serbët dhe Shqiptarët”. Even the historical novel, with Albanian theme “Kostantin Balsha” belongs to him.
