The parliament votes the Zaev government in Macedonia

Macedonian Parliament voted on new government led by Social Democratic leader Zoran Zaev. 62 MPs from the new majority of the SDSM, DUI and Alliance for Albanians voted in support of the Government. 44 deputies voted against and 5 abstentions.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev during his speech before the vote stressed that his government will be committed to deep reforms, the return of life in Macedonia, and the restoration of citizens’ trust to the institution. He commented on the accusations of some opposition MPs.

Zaev promised solution to the name dispute by finding common language with the opposition, and every proposal being brought to a popular referendum, writes INA.

He also spoke about maintaining the unitary character of Macedonia and full respect for the Constitution. Zaev sought to avoid nationalist language and respect all ethnicities in Macedonia. The new prime minister said that he is proud that his party in the last elections received more than 40,000 votes of citizens and that, according to him, why this does not happen with any Albanian party to get votes for Macedonians.

He talked about a number of measures in the economic plan and solving the social problems of the citizens.

It is true that the governmental program is part of the Albanian Party Declaration, Zaev said, saying everything good for the country was included in this program.

The new government is comprised of 25 ministers, most of whom are from SDSM and its coalition, the rest from DUI and the Alliance for Albanians.
