In the sixth century church register, “Liber Pontificalius,” the Pope mentioned “Inocentius natione Albanensis”. This Latin document has for us and our history, a dual importance. First, he points out the Albanian origin of Papas Inocenti, a prominent figure who has played a major role in all areas of life of that period, an international figure. On the other hand, and more importantly, this ancient document speaks of the ethnic Arbër “albanesis”, even the Nation albanensis nation, thus forming a jumble between Plato’s second-century reports on the existence of the Illyrian tribe Albanians, between Ohrid and Durrës and the works of Byzantine historians Ataliati and Ana Komnena, which speak of them in the XI-XlI centuries.
