In Upper Cerenec of Dibra, on July 8, 1944, Commander of the Partizan Battalion “Antonio Gramshi” Tercilio Cardinal was martyred. The battalion was formed with Italian soldiers who, after the capitulation of Mussolini’s fascist regime, volunteered to fight the Nazis, together with their armaments. Tercilio Kariinali, led 170 of his antifascist comrades in the fighting in Skrapar, Mallakastra, Gore, Opar, Moker, Dumre, Sulove, Cermenika, Diber, Mat and Kruja.
