Mujo Ulqinaku, was among the first fighters, who did resistance to the fascist aggressors, on April 7th, 1939; even though betrayed and sabotaged by the government of King Zog, they fought until the end for the freedom of their homeland. Mujo was born in 1896, in a sailor family in Ulcinj. He worked since he was young as marine in Shkodra and Durres. That Friday he was only petty officer in the navy combat. He was put in charge of the marine patriots and volunteers and organized the resistance in the Port of Durres. Although it was a completely unequal fight, they stayed until the end as heroes and gave their lives for freedom.
