Today is commemorated the patriotic doctor Jorgji Karamitri. He was born in Shkodra in 1889. He followed the primary and secondary studies in his hometown, and the higher education in Poland. After graduating for dermatology, he returned to Shkodra, serving to their fellow citizens. During the National Liberation War, he was connected with the anti-fascist movement and served to the freedom fighters, which had health problems. For his humane and patriotic activities, on December 7th, 1943, he was arrested by the Nazi occupiers and cruelly was executed.
