On February 5th, 1915 in Durres was born Petrika Merlika. Finished the Primary education in Tirana and then attended the Italian-arbëresh College St. Mitër of Coronea and the famous Technical Institute of Fermi. Graduated engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, in France. In 1941 returned to Albania. At that time his father, Mustafa Merlika (Kruje) was prime minister. Petriti preferred business and together with two colleagues, opened the company “SERMI” for electrical and plumbing repairs. After the liberation started the persecutions, he spent 14 years in prison and until 1990 in deportation.
