In Adrianople, on September 3, 1876, Fazil Ahmet Qypërliu, an Albanian of the well-known Vlondi family, died. At the age of 17 he became the great vizier, the prime minister of the Ottoman Empire. During his rule, education and science developed, a large commercial complex was built in Izmir and two mosques known as cultural monuments.
