On 3 June 1878, the Muslim and Christian representatives of Pristina, Vucitern, Mitrovica, Peja, Gjilan and Vranje sent a protest to the French Ambassador in Istanbul expressing against the unfair decisions of the St Stephen Treaty for the cleavage of Albanian lands.
