3 December 1923, Noli was elected Bishop of Durres

In the Cathedral of St. George’s in Korca, on December 3^rd, 1923, Theophan Noli was elected Bishop of Durres. This remains an important step towards the establishment of the Albanian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
