After the assembly gathered in Prekal, the northern highlanders developed fierce fighting to protect Shkodra by Serbian-Montenegrin attacks. On December 23st ,1919, 400 volunteers from Kelmendi made a strict war with the Yugoslav detachment, causing 10 killed, 61 wounded and 243 captives.
