The torch of Albanian education and culture in Debar and beyond, Lutfi Marku, was born on June 21, 1932, in a patriotic family in the village of Bohmova in Debar. He completed his primary and secondary education at home, then went on to Normal, Skopje’s pedagogical school, and in 1971 finished the Faculty of Philology in Skopje. After graduating, he was hired as a teacher in Debar, where he was distinguished as a pedagogue, versatile organizer, both in the educational process as well as in the cultural activity. In 1970, he was appointed director and ten years at the Palace of Culture in Debar. Thanks to the devotion and zealous and noble work exercised by Lutfi Mark, the decade from 1970 to 1980, is known as the most productive and richer period of cultural activities in the new history of Dibra and beyond. During this period many concerts, shows, exhibitions, etc. were organized. When in the dibrane scenes, several national and international state assemblies went up, such as from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Diaspora, etc .; When the “Liman Kaba” Assembly, from Dibra, under the leadership and organization of Lutfi Mark, undertook tours in Tirana, Shkodra, Kruja, Elbasan, Vlora, Bishop, Kosovo, Germany, Belgium, France etc. At this time, the Palfati of Culture in Debar, under the chairmanship of Lutfi Mark, organized drama, choreography, piano, violin, accordion, literary club, art circle, foreign languages, table tennis, chess, billiard, while the palace library Of culture at the time, was one of the richest books in the region and numbered more than 1300 members. In 1980, Lutfi Marku was appointed director of the Dibra Gymnasium, where he faced many different challenges and vicissitudes, especially after student demonstrations in Kosovo in 1981, when in Debar, state security, campaigned Persecutions, imprisonments and discrimination of students and professors. In such a situation, Director of Lutfi Marku, at the Palace of Culture and at the Dibra Gymnasium, determined that with determination, wisdom and courage, to face the challenges and at the same time to remain steadfast, in defense of colleagues and students his. Lutfi Marku, “Symbol of Dibra”, as Professor Prof.Dr. Mahmut Hysa, died on 23 August 2008. He died, to remain an indefinite symbol of an intellectual, patriot, and activity.
