In 1736, was written the Codex No.72 of Berat, a monument of our medieval culture, with great historical and artistic value. It has a great importance, especially for the history of the music development in our country. It the Codex are mention, some composers, among whom Jan Kukuzeli, one of the most prominent personalities of the Albanian and Byzantine art music, with whose work can be proud Albania and all the Balkans. The Codex No. 72 of Berat, also demonstrates a development in the Albanian territories and especially for the development of art and culture, next to the ancient cultural traditions of the indigenous people of our lands. From this perspective this codex, has values of an identifier document for our people and our nation, to our original and ancient culture.
