In the framework of the 1912 General Albanian Uprising, the lead led by Gjeto Caku on 16 August attacked the weapons depots in Durres, while insurgents in other parts of the country liberated Peshkopi, Fier, Permet, Leskovik and Konica. In the north-east Skopje was freed and political prisoners released. Under these conditions, the Sultan was forced to accept the requirements contained in the memorandum drawn up by Hasan Prishtina.
