On November 13rd, 1522, died the Albanian prominent humanist, historian, the first famous author and one of the greats of the Albanian literature, Marin Barleti. Was born in Shkodra and experienced the witness of the three sieges of the birthplace, defending it with gun. After conquest by the Ottomans, lived in exile, where he wrote three works that have come to our days: “Rrethimi i Shkodrës”, which was republished three times and has been translated into five other languages; “Historia e jetës dhe e bëmave të Skënderbeut” and “Shkurtore e jetës së papëve dhe perandorëve”.
