On the morning of February 11th, 1936 Kucova was awakened by sirens that warned the beginning of strikes of oilmen and other workers. The work was interrupted in all enterprises. On that day they came from Berat and Tirana major gendarmerie forces headed by Interior Minister Ethem Toto. They arrested the most prominent activists of society “The work”, others were fired and expelled from Kucova. This made that the association to cease to exist.
