In Ioannina, on June 1st, 1909, was published the first number of the newspaper, “Awakening of Albania”, a political, social and literary organ in Albanian and partly in Turkish. It was published by Musa Demi, Kadri Gjata, Naum Naçi, Fehmi Tepelena, and others. It propagated and defeated the Albanian cause, calling for an armed struggle against the foreign invaders.
