The “National Defense of Kosovo” Committee was created in illegality on May 1st, 1918. From November of that year it settled in Shkodra. It was a national-political organization that fought for the defense of the Albanian independent state, its democratization, the liberation of Kosovo and other Albanian lands of Yugoslavia, unjustly detached in 1913 and their union with Albania. It was leaded by Hoxha Kadri and other distinguished patriots as: Hasan Prishtina, Bajram Curri, Sali Nivica, Hysni Curri, etc.
