On the occasion of the solemn opening of the “Dela Pergola” Theater in Florence on July 22, 1718, the premiere of the opera “Scanderbeg” was performed, with the music of the prominent Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, author of 47 opera, 25 singers, 23 symphonies, 75 Sonnets and many other musical works. Such was the weight of the author’s workpiece “Scanderbeg”. According to the chronicles of the time, the performance of the opera was very successful. Although opera at the time, it was a privilege of high classrooms, for the first time in the “Scanderbeg” facility, the people of Florence participated. The book, written by Antonio Salvi, for the first time, supports his theme on a real historical event, marking a twist in the history of opera art. And in this turn it is worth mentioning, that was precisely our National Hero, who was selected as the protagonist among many other historical figures, was precisely the figure of Gjergj Kastritoti, who climbed to the Italian operatic stage.
