The War of Three Heroes of Shkodra took place on June 22, 1942. About 600 militia of carabinieri circled on Firej Street in Shkodra, three anti-fascist heroes: Perlat Rexhepi, Branko Kadina and Jordan Misjen. They had only three revolvers, 1 rifle and 10 bombs, and they fought for 4 hours of armed enemy to the teeth. Even when the house was burning, they continued the battle until the last breath. Writer and co-fighter of Shkodra, Kol Jakova, that day, called the song “Three Heroes of Shkodra”, which is sung today.
