The workers and shoemakers of the shoe factory in Shkodra, on May 13th, 1905, declared a strike and sought to reduce working hours and raise salaries. The strike was violently pressed by the Turkish authorities, but it was echoed because in this strike participated also the workers of tobacco workshops and tailor.
