On March 22nd, 1878 was published the first number of the newspaper “Interpreti i Lindjes” Terxhumani Shark). The newspaper was published in Istanbul in Turkish language. Beginning from its 74 number, until it was closed, chief editor was the Albanian encyclopaedist Sami Frashëri. In each publication of it Sami Frasheri has published notes and political commentaries, where he defended the Albanian issue and national interests. In the newspaper were reflected the activities of the League of Prizren and the requirements for joining of 4 vilayets inhabited by Albanians in an autonomous administrative unit.
