In Vranisht, Vlora on February 1st, 1935 was born Vasfi Duka, one of the most prominent geologists of the country. He was educated at the polytechnic “7 Nëntori” studied in Moscow and later at the University of Tirana. He worked as a geologist and directed the Geological Enterprise in Rubik. Thanks to the work of Vasfi Duka and his colleagues our country has some new deposits of copper.
