On June 13, 1878, the Congress of Berlin began its work. The treaty concluded after a month of debates, taking on the chin of the principle of the self-determination of peoples, preserved Turkish rule on a part of the Balkan peninsula. The great injustice was the Albanians. Congress not only did not approve of their demands for autonomy, but here again, the collapse of Albanian lands began. European powers ignored it. And completely denied the existence of the Albanian cause. The Congressional decisions caused a wave of anger in Albania and speeded up the organization of armed resistance, against the advent of the neighboring chauvinists and the maneuvering of the great powers aimed at breaking down Albanian lands.
