The artistic world today celebrates the birth anniversary of the first Albanian filmmaker Milto Manaq. He was born in Avdela village of Chameria on 9 September 1882. Along with his brother Janaqi, he is the first Albanian and Balkan cinematic pioneers and rare masters of photographic art. With the picture “Woman from Klisura with the baby”, he won the gold medal in the International Artistic Photo Contest in 1906, whiles the documentary film “The Trolls”, shot in 1905, marked the beginning of the seventh art in the Balkans.
