Alfonso, the king of Naples and ally of our national hero Gjergj Kastriot, on December 6th, 1454, officially asked the Pope to assume burden of the anti-Turkish campaign. He suggested to the Holy Father to put on anti ottoman service the papal felt and help the Albanian war front, with 1000 infantrymen and 200 knights.
