In the letter dated 5 June 1902, the first Albanian school teacher in Tirana, Filip Ashiku, wrote about the treasure discovered in the village of Vrap, “In these parts a few days ago, he writes, many antique objects have been discovered on earth In gold, among them a kind of 300g gold with four figures and each figure is a Greek inscription, in addition two gold coins, a sword and other items, all in the same place. ” This rare discovery, called “The Albanian Treasury”, is now in the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
