Today is commemorated the patriot, politician, teacher and journalist Kristo Dako. He has developed an intense activity inside and outside the homeland for our national issue, for the creation of the state and the development of the national culture. He has excellent in the field of journalism by numerous writings that he has published in Albanian notebooks, in Albania, Romania and America, he founded and directed organs as the “The library, the Voice of Albania”, the newspaper “Dielli” and the magazine “Ylli i mëngjesit”. He was distinguished for eloquence in the national and international tribunes; he is the first who wrote about the history of the Albanian diplomacy. Kristo Dako was active in the diplomatic war in defense of Kosovo issue and Chameria, was elected Member of Parliament and together with his wife Sevasti Qiriazi, they established in Tirana “Qiriazi Institute”, where he worked for Albanian girls’ education. Kristo Dako died on December 5th, 1941.
