The albanologist, linguist and Croatian researcher Henrik Baric was born on January 28th, 1888. For several years he published the scientific journal “Arkiv i lashtësisë shqipe, i gjuhës dhe etnologjisë”. In 1919, he published “Studime rumuno-shqiptare”. With his etymological studies Henrik Baric enriched the Indo-European fund of the Albanian language and evidenced some historical facts of its phonetics. Regarding the origin of the Albanian language, starting from some of Albanian overlapped with the Romanian he supported trachea thesis.
