Today is the anniversary of the coronation Emperor of the Roman Empire of Eugene Flavian, of Illyrian origin. He came to the throne on August 22, 392, following the death of Valentinian II, also of Illyrian origin. Eugene was an educated man and gave rhetorical lessons. He was killed on the battlefield in September 394.
