On April 21st, 1831, between the forces of Mustafa Pasha Bushatlliu and Turkish armies, took place the battle of Babuna. With all the heroic struggle of Mirdita, the Albanians suffered a severe defeat. The Babuna’s battle was the second defeat that marked the beginning of the fall of the Patriarchy of Shkodra, as one of the efforts to create the medieval Albanian state.
