In his diary the compatriot from Berati, Bab Dud Karbunara, writes that for his patriotic activity, on April 20th, 1905, was sentenced to three years in prison by the Turkish court of Berat, for political offenses against the state. It is known the determination of our great renaissance for the freedom and independence of the Homeland, about the school and Albanian education, for the preservation of our culture and national identity. All of these constituted criminal offenses and were punishable.
